The narrative of the African continent in Italy continues to be stereotyped, unambiguous and distorted. The Western narrative tradition portrays it as a single country without voice and history, poor, hungry, prey to wars, famines and full of negativity. It robs people from the continent of their dignity and prevents them from thinking that they can produce culture, work, art, knowledge, knowledge, etc. It becomes impossible to see ә suә inhabitants as anything other than poorә. Their poverty is our only story about them, and in this single story there is no possibility for feelings more complex than pity or annoyance, no possibility of an equal relationship between human beings. There is a need for different stories because, as C. N. Adichie says:
stories can break the dignity of a people, but stories can also repair that broken dignity.
A quiz on Africa then! To realize how much we know, how much we think we know, how much we can discover if we have access to the correct information. The objective is to contribute to the knowledge and construction of a new narrative on the African continent to combat racist stereotypes and racializing language used daily against people of African origin in Italy.
